Reporting to the Plant Manager the Plant Administrator provides administrative support to our manufacturing facility in Grimsby. In this role, you’ll play an important part in keeping day-to-day operations running smoothly in providing administrative support to plant leadership, assisting with workforce processes for hourly employees, and helping coordinate activities between the manufacturing plant and office.
Working closely with plant management, you’ll help maintain accurate information, support production needs, and contribute to a well-organized, efficient work environment.
This is a full time, permanent, in office position.
Job Responsibilities:
• Provide day-to-day administrative support to the Plant Manager, supervisors, and plant leadership.
• Support scheduling, reporting, and in operational planning activities to keep the plant running smoothly.
• Act as the first point of contact for visitors and manage plant access, including badges and visitor logs.
• Coordinate office operations at the plant, including equipment support, vendors, mail/couriers, and supply inventory.
• Maintain accurate plant documentation, distribution lists, and organized filing systems.
• Support workforce administration, including timekeeping, attendance tracking, and manpower reporting.
• Track vacation requests, employee records, and assist with onboarding activities (e.g., systems, parking, lockers).
• Assist with apprenticeship program coordination and maintain related documentation.
• Prepare reports on hours worked, support expense processing, and liaise with payroll as needed.
• Support plant communications, events, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and engagement.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
• 2-4 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing or operational environment supporting both hourly staff and office staff.
• Experience with timekeeping and accounting systems.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of Kronos and Power BI is an asset
• A self-starter with a go getter attitude.
