We are looking for a Contract Manager to support the contractual and commercial management of complex infrastructure projects in an international environment.
Our client is a highly specialised engineering partner operating in the field of complex civil infrastructure, with a strong focus on immersed structures, marine operations, and precision monitoring. With more than 25 years of experience, the organisation supports leading international contractors and project owners across Europe, Asia, and the Americas in delivering technically demanding projects.
Positioned at the intersection of design, engineering, and execution, our client plays a key role in projects involving immersed tunnels, caissons, and large-scale marine structures. Their work ensures that complex installations are engineered, transported, and positioned with a high degree of accuracy in challenging environments where execution risk and coordination are critical.
A defining characteristic of the organisation is its hands-on approach. Engineers are actively involved throughout the full project lifecycle, from tendering and method engineering to on-site execution support. This creates a strong link between theoretical design and real-world delivery, requiring both analytical depth and practical problem-solving capability.
With a well-established reputation in its niche and a growing international footprint, our client offers an environment where technical specialists contribute to unique, non-standard projects that demand precision, ownership, and collaboration across multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
You will be involved from early-stage tendering through to project execution, ensuring that contractual positions are clearly understood, risks are identified, and commercial interests are effectively managed throughout the project lifecycle.
In this role, you act as a key point of reference for contractual matters, working closely with project teams and management to support decision-making and maintain control over contractual obligations and changes.
Strategic Oversight: Determine and implement contract strategies during the tender phase to safeguard project margins.
Risk Analysis: Deep-dive into contract documentation to identify commercial risks and provide mitigation advice to project teams.
Execution Management: Monitor the fulfillment of contractual agreements and maintain a clear overview of all obligations.
Commercial Support: Identify variations and changes in scope, providing hands-on support with the preparation and negotiation of claims.
Stakeholder Management: Act as a bridge between management, project teams, and external partners to ensure a unified contractual approach.
Field Presence: Maintain structured documentation and control through regular visits to international project locations.
-
Experience: Minimum of 10 years in contract management, specifically within international technical or heavy infrastructure environments.
-
Contractual Knowledge: Solid understanding of international contract forms and commercial frameworks used in large-scale projects.
-
Analytical Strength: Proactive mindset with the ability to quickly assess complex situations and identify commercial implications.
-
Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to switch communication styles between different stakeholders and levels of management.
-
Language: Professional fluency in both Dutch and English is essential.
-
Mobility: Willingness to travel internationally as required by project needs.
You will be part of an international project environment working on technically complex infrastructure developments.
The role provides exposure to diverse projects and the opportunity to contribute to contract and commercial management across different project phases.
In addition to a competitive salary package, you will benefit from international collaboration, varied project experience, and a dynamic working environment.
