Transforming the insurance industry is ambitious, we know. That’s why at Applied, we’re building a team that shows up every day ready to learn, willing to try new things, and driven to deliver innovative software and services that make us indispensable to our customers – all within a culture built on values that make us indispensable to each other too. With 40+ years of experience in the Insurtech game, we’re not just redefining what’s achievable; we’re creating a place where amazing career moments are made possible.
We’re searching for a Marketing Director to join our Agency Marketing team in a hybrid location (1-2 days per week) from either our Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta, or Toronto offices. The Marketing Director is a strategic, revenue-aligned role responsible for owning the go-to-market strategy for our Benefits and Financial Management business units. The ideal candidate partners extensively with business unit leadership — shaping the product narrative, refining the ICP, and building full-funnel marketing programs that drive pipeline quality, demand, and revenue performance.
To keep us headed in the right direction, we’re looking for people who understand winning is a team sport, who value and seek to learn from our team’s diverse experiences and backgrounds, who welcome a challenge and take risks in the pursuit of creating better outcomes for our customers, and who can, at any given time, step back to laugh and have some fun.

Define value propositions alongside product marketing, sharpen ICP and segmentation, and translate business goals into clear, actionable marketing plans with measurable outcomes.
- →Build and Execute Full-Funnel Campaigns: Design integrated campaigns spanning awareness, demand creation, deal acceleration, and customer lifecycle adoption. Partner with the existing field team on execution while owning the strategy, messaging, and offer architecture that drives results.
- →Partner Closely with Customers and Product: Gather customer insights through direct interactions — calls, events, and advisory sessions. Develop deep product fluency across both business units and use that expertise to create differentiated messaging that resonates with target buyers. Bring a strong sense of competitive dynamics to ensure campaigns stand apart in crowded markets.
- →Drive Decision-Making with Data: Review funnel performance, conversion metrics, and campaign analytics to continuously refine strategy. Use data to validate or challenge assumptions and ensure the business is investing in what works.
- →Lead Strategic Initiatives: Investigate and experiment with new channels, offers, and campaign approaches to expand reach and improve performance. Bring a point of view on what the market needs and advocate for it internally.
Your experience may include:
- 7-10 years of experience in a marketing role with a proven track record of executing comprehensive transactional B2B/B2C marketing plans and running campaigns in support of organizational strategy; insurance software industry experience in the benefits and financial management space preferred
- Strong strategic instincts — able to identify growth opportunities, challenge assumptions, and influence executive-level decisions
- Track record of quickly developing deep product fluency
- Ability to design and build full-funnel campaigns from strategy through to execution, working effectively alongside field and channel teams
- Data-driven mindset with experience using funnel metrics and campaign analytics to drive continuous improvement
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment — entrepreneurial, experimental, and able to iterate quickly
