We are looking for experienced Project Managers with a strong banking background to lead complex transformation initiatives across our financial services clients.
You will bring a combination of project delivery expertise and banking domain experience, with a track record of successfully delivering transformation within areas such as Retail Banking, Private Banking & Wealth Management, Corporate & Transaction Banking, Payments, Capital Markets or other banking domains.
This is a hands-on, client-facing role where you will take ownership of projects from initiation through implementation, working closely with senior business and technology stakeholders, delivery teams and external partners.
You should be comfortable operating in complex banking environments, bringing structure to ambiguity, challenging where appropriate, and driving teams towards successful delivery.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Lead end-to-end delivery of business and technology transformation initiatives within banking environments, from initiation and planning through implementation and closure.
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, milestones, dependencies and success measures.
- Develop and manage integrated project plans covering timelines, resources, budgets, dependencies and quality.
- Drive execution across multiple workstreams and ensure delivery remains aligned with agreed business outcomes.
- Translate strategic objectives into structured and executable transformation plans.
- Establish effective project governance and maintain clear decision-making and escalation pathways.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies (RAID) and drive issues through to resolution.
- Manage scope, change control, budgets, resources and delivery performance.
- Prepare clear and concise reporting for Project Sponsors, Steering Committees and senior stakeholders.
- Ensure appropriate project controls, documentation and delivery standards are maintained throughout the lifecycle.
- Work closely with stakeholders across business, product, operations, technology, risk, compliance and other functions.
- Build trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and act as a credible delivery partner.
- Understand the business context behind transformation initiatives and ensure project delivery remains aligned to business objectives.
- Navigate competing priorities and facilitate decisions across complex stakeholder groups.
- Coordinate effectively with vendors, system integrators and other external delivery partners where required.
- Lead cross-functional and geographically distributed teams across business and technology.
- Establish clear accountability, delivery cadence and ways of working across project teams.
- Identify delivery challenges early and take appropriate action to maintain momentum.
- Create an environment of collaboration, ownership and delivery excellence.
- Assess the business and operational impacts of transformation initiatives.
- Coordinate implementation and business readiness across impacted functions.
- Support transition from current-state processes and systems into the target environment.
- Track agreed outcomes and benefits following implementation.
- 5+ years of Project Management experience within banking or financial services, with direct accountability for end-to-end project delivery.
- Demonstrated experience leading or delivering banking transformation projects, rather than purely BAU or operational initiatives.
- Strong domain experience in at least one area of banking, such as:
- Retail Banking
- Private Banking / Wealth Management
- Corporate / Commercial Banking
- Transaction Banking / Cash Management
- Payments
- Capital Markets / Markets
- Core Banking
- Other relevant banking products or functions
- Experience delivering transformation involving business, operations and technology stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of project governance, planning, RAID management, financial management and change control.
- Proven ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, Project Sponsors and Steering Committees.
- Ability to operate effectively in complex, ambiguous and highly regulated banking environments.
- Strong communication, facilitation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Experience working with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid delivery methodologies.
- Previous experience within management consulting, technology consulting or professional services.
- Experience delivering large-scale or regional banking transformation programmes.
- Exposure to digital transformation, platform modernisation, operating model change, regulatory transformation or technology implementation.
- Experience managing third-party vendors or system integrators.
- PMP, PRINCE2, Agile or equivalent project/programme management certification.
