Internal Control Officer

Job Purpose: The Internal Control Officer is responsible for the daily operational integrity of the institution — covering transaction review, loan monitoring, KYC oversight, vault control, and the production of internal control reports. This is a hands-on, high-visibility role at the heart of the institution's control environment. Key Responsibilities: Perform end-of-day transaction call-overs and review large, suspicious, or unusual transactions on the Core Banking System Monitor loan disbursements, POF loans, and portfolio quality — including weekly PAR assessment and escalation of delinquency trends Review account opening documentation and KYC completeness; detect suspicious onboarding patterns Oversee ATM card issuance controls, vault limit compliance, and daily reconciliation sign-off Monitor suspense accounts, GL movements, and financial reconciliation completeness Escalate breaches, fraud indicators, and audit exceptions to management Produce monthly internal control reports and maintain a live control issues log Requirements Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Banking, or a related field 2–4 years' experience in internal control, internal audit, or operations within a bank, MFI, or financial institution Working knowledge of a Core Banking System (CBS); experience with Flexcube, T24, or similar platforms is an advantage Understanding of CBG regulatory requirements and MFI operational standards Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently Professional certification in ACCA, ACA, CIA, or CIMA (in progress or completed) is an advantage
