Director of Nursing - Home Care

This role is based out of our Chevy Chase, MD office and offers the chance to shape clinical quality, compliance, and care outcomes for the clients and communities we serve.

What You'll Do

• Lead the region's Personal Care nursing staff in delivering excellent patient care as authorized by each client's physician and applicable health care standards and regulations.
• Own nursing recruitment decisions and ensure every nurse is actively licensed and meets the standards for high-quality care.
• Create and update clinically based policies, driving continual improvement in efficiency and accuracy through quality assurance activities.
• Ensure clinical compliance across the region and confirm nurses are trained on documentation expectations and system use.
• Analyze data trends and help refine or implement clinical programs that improve quality of life for clients.
• Provide regular training and updates to nursing staff on techniques, services, or regulatory changes affecting care.
• Oversee clinical compliance activities for the region and take the lead on patient care complaints involving clinical or regulatory concerns, working to de-escalate and resolve.
• Administer discipline as warranted, working directly with HR and following the progressive discipline model.
• Serve as the subject matter expert on Personal Care nursing questions and regulations.
• Measure, analyze, and report on clinical metrics and key performance indicators.
• Represent the company in external partnerships and relationships.
• Serve as the required Director on applicable licenses within the assigned territory, acting on behalf of the clinical department during audits or regulatory reviews.
• Maintain revalidations and delegated contracting for all locations overseen.

What We're Looking For

• Active, valid Registered Nurse license in Maryland required; active D.C. RN license also required, and may be obtained as quickly as possible after joining the team.
• Minimum of 5 years in a home health care nursing role, including at least 2 years in a home care nursing management or leadership position.
• Current, active CPR certification in good standing.
• Experience working with an EMR system; AlayaCare experience preferred.
• Ability to apply and analyze data related to quality and compliance metrics.
• Comfortable working collaboratively across cross-functional teams.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of an organization.
• Excellent presentation skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills, both individually and in a team setting.

Work Environment

This role is based out of our Chevy Chase, MD office and covers the Maryland and Washington, D.C. area, with regular travel required. You should be able to meet basic physical demands, including the ability to sit, stand, squat, twist, and turn as needed, and to lift a minimum of 20 pounds.
