Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Tennessee or ability to obtain
  • Experience in civil site design and project leadership
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D
  • Working knowledge of project management software Ajera is a plus
  • Strong design, analytical, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with local design regulations and permitting requirements in the middle Tennessee area
  • Proven ability to develop cost-effective and constructible designs
  • Ability to effectively lead and mentor a design team
  • A self-starter who thrives in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
  • Located in Nashville or willing to relocate.

Responsibilities:

Project Design

  • Produce and oversee site development designs, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with regulations.
  • Review survey data, reports, and maps to inform design decisions.
  • Prepare and review technical reports and submittals for regulatory approval.
  • Stay current with design technologies and standards to strengthen project outcomes.

Client & Agency Coordination

  • Collaborate with clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies to understand requirements and resolve design challenges.
  • Participate in client and stakeholder meetings to provide updates and obtain feedback.
  • Foster positive working relationships with agency reviewers to support project approvals.
  • Provide guidance, feedback, and mentorship to graduate engineers and design staff.
  • Support project scheduling, task delegation, and team coordination.
  • Promote quality standards and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Contribute technical expertise to proposals and presentations.
  • Represent the firm professionally in meetings with clients and at community events.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation in project delivery and firm wide team initiatives.
