Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Electrical Design Engineer to join our growing MEP consulting team. In this role, you will design power, lighting, and life safety systems for commercial, institutional, and healthcare buildings. You will work closely with clients and our internal mechanical and plumbing teams to deliver high-quality, sustainable engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Design: Create detailed designs for power distribution, indoor/outdoor lighting, emergency generators, and fire alarm systems.
  • Engineering Analysis: Perform electrical load calculations, voltage drop studies, short-circuit analysis, and photometric layouts.
  • Project Coordination: Collaborate with architects, structural engineers, and other MEP disciplines to eliminate spatial and technical conflicts.
  • Quality Control: Review project submittals, respond to contractor RFIs, and perform site visits to verify that construction matches design intent.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Architectural Engineering.
  • Experience: 2 to 5 years of experience in electrical design specifically for building systems.
  • Technical Software: High proficiency in Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD. Experience with SKM PowerTools or ETAP is preferred.
  • Credentials: EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification is required; path toward PE licensure is expected.
  • Codes: Solid understanding of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local building codes.
