Electrical Engineer, Staff

• →Support all phases of the system lifecycle, from concept to retirement
• →Root cause analysis of system/component issues and/or failure
• →Researching and reviewing ship’s structural and electrical drawings to support system integration
• →2D and 3D modeling design and drafting of mechanical and electrical assemblies
• →Prototyping
• →Inspection and acceptance of material received from procurement or fabrication
• →Factory acceptance testing
• →Support all aspects of technical data package (TDP) development (i.e., Temporary Alterations = TEMPALT)
• →Draft forwarding letters and process flow checklists
• →Ship check and fit check of submarines
• →Support all aspects of system testing and documentation, including but not limited to:
  • →electromagnetic interference (EMI)/electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)
  • →cybersecurity/information assurance
• →Support fleet troubleshooting efforts
• →Support the creation of departures from specification (DFS)
• →Engage with traditional and Agile project management processes and systems engineering processes
• →Identify and remove obstacles in the workflow
• →Support with presentations and briefs to stakeholders

• Have an active Secret security clearance or the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance (US Citizenship).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering related to submarine system development, system integration, or alteration development.
• Proficiency in MATLAB/Simulink, Linux, C/C++
• Intermediate/Advanced in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, and PowerPoint
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and listening skills; Team player
• Ability to meet deadlines on assigned tasks and responsibilities
• Multi-task oriented and capable of prioritizing.

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00/Yr. - USD $120,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
