Reporting to the Water Resources Engineer, the Water Management Technician supports the operation, inspection, monitoring, maintenance, and performance of the site's water management systems and infrastructure.
Location: Blackwater Mine Site
Schedule: Two (2) Weeks On - Two (2) Weeks Off Rotation
Responsibilities
~1 min read• Inspect ponds, pipelines, ditches, culverts, pumps, valves, and treatment facilities.• Monitor water levels, flows, pumping rates, and storage volumes.• Collect groundwater, surface water, and water quality samples.• Perform field measurements including pH, conductivity, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and temperature.• Support the operation, monitoring, inspection, and maintenance of water treatment systems• Inspect instrumentation, telemetry, and flow monitoring equipment.• Support bathymetric surveys and field investigations.• Maintain inspection records and operational logs.• Support construction, commissioning, and start-up of new water management infrastructure. • Operate pickup trucks, ATVs, UTVs, pumps, generators, and other water management equipment.• Support environmental monitoring and regulatory compliance.• May be required to maintain a clean-shaven appearance (i.e. no facial hair) to ensure the safe and effective use of required personal protective equipment (PPE) associated with assigned duties.
Requirements
~1 min read• Diploma in Water Resources, Civil, Environmental, Mining, or Water/Wastewater Technology (or equivalent).• 2–5 years of relevant experience preferred.• Experience with pumps, pipelines, and water infrastructure.• Knowledge of telemetry or SCADA is an asset.• Valid Class 5 Driver's Licence.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills for pumps, piping, valves, and water management equipment.• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, technical specifications, and operating procedures.• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and field data collection software.• Strong organizational skills with the ability to maintain accurate field records and inspection reports.• Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to work independently and collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
