Project Engineer (Regional Water)

This entry-level position will assist in designing civil engineering projects focusing on rural/regional systems, and municipal water systems. This position has a focus in potable water projects. Project work will involve: Pipeline distribution systems, elevated/ground storage, municipal or regional water supply systems, and hydraulic modeling.

• →Develops plans and specifications for water projects.
• →Will focus on pipeline distribution systems, elevated/ground storage tanks, municipal or regional water supply systems, pump stations, and hydraulic modeling.
• →Performs environmental studies and writes technical reports.
• →May assist with proposal preparations and fee development.
• →Utilizes AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, in-house water distribution design model to design and analyze projects.
• →Interacts with vendors in selection of equipment (pumps, pipe materials, valves, treatment equipment, storage tanks, SCADA systems, and metering equipment).
• →Performs evaluations of sites, alternate solutions, costs and other considerations for client needs.
• →Manages engineering work and interfaces with other disciplines as needed.
• →Typically handles multiple projects for multiple clients simultaneously.
• →Visits clients and job sites as needed to support project(s) and business development needs, including evening meetings.
• →Serves as consultant on projects during construction phase.

• Proficiency in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D, Water/Sewer GEMS, InfoWater, ArcGIS and water modeling software
• Ability to embrace new technology and processes including learning other software programs as needed (Adobe, Bluebeam, Deltek Vision accounting and project planning software, Client Relationship Management software, etc.)

• Good time management skills with ability to handle complex deadline driven workload
• Ability to work independently and within a team successfully

0-3 years engineering experience in potable water systems. Knowledge/experience of AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, and water modeling software strongly preferred.

Must be able to travel in-state and out-of-state on occasion, which usually would consist of visiting other office locations, project sites, attending seminars or business meetings.  Travel is 10% - 20% of the time depending on projects.  Certain positions will require more travel.  Travel expectations will be communicated through the employee-owner’s manager, and for newly open positions, travel expectations will be reflected in the job posting announcement.  Driver’s license with clean driving record required.
