BerryDunn is currently seeking a Tax Processing Specialist to join our dynamic Tax Services Group. This position provides critical operational support to tax service teams serving a broad range of industries. The ideal candidate will bring strong attention to detail, effective interpersonal skills for working with both internal colleagues and external clients, and a demonstrated commitment to continuous technical and professional development.

 

 

The Tax Processing Specialist must be capable of effectively prioritizing daily tasks, working independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment to meet deadlines. This is an in-office/hybrid position that may be based out of one of our following locations:

  • Bangor, ME
  • Portland, ME

This role reports directly to the Tax Operations Manager.

 

Travel Expectations: None.

  • Print and assemble various types of tax returns—including corporate, partnership, individual, trust, estate, and exempt organization filings.
  • Prepare and deliver finalized tax return packages to clients.
  • Communicate directly with existing clients, colleagues, and management regarding various tax matters.
  • Monitor and manage client deliverables and due dates.
  • Demonstrate strong teamwork by actively contributing to a collaborative work environment, understanding both individual and team roles, building positive relationships with team members, and proactively seeking guidance, clarification, and feedback as needed.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong organizational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion in managing confidential and sensitive information.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and follow up with stakeholders as needed.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience with the CCH Axcess Platform (Tax, Document, Workflow, etc.) is helpful, though not required.

What We Offer

The hourly rate for this role is $28 to $32 per hour. This rate range represents BerryDunn’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the possible compensation at the time of posting. If an applicant possesses experience, education, or other qualifications more than the minimum requirements for this posting, that applicant is encouraged to apply, and a final rate may then be based on those additional qualifications; compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The hourly rate for the finalist selected for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, years of experience, depth of experience, seniority, merit, education, training, amount of travel, and other relevant business considerations.
