Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Serve as an engineer on the planning, design, construction and/or commissioning of water, wastewater, and stormwater infrastructure projects.
- →Specialize in challenging projects outside of the treatment plant, including: the planning and design of water/wastewater pipelines, pump stations, trenchless pipelines, pipeline seismic retrofits, deep wastewater pump stations and many other diverse projects.
- →Work on engineering planning and design projects and perform conceptual and preliminary design activities including site visits, overseeing fieldwork, alternatives analysis, and report preparation.
- →Develop civil engineering plans and specifications.
- →Prepare cost estimates for various water and wastewater projects.
- →Prepare technical memoranda, reports, and electronic deliverables.
- →Assist project manager with the planning, scheduling, coordinating, supervising, and reviewing of the work of the project team, including: environmental, civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation/controls engineers; drafters, technicians; technical experts; and subconsultants.
- →Assist project manager with meeting budget, schedule, and quality goals.
- →Review contractor submittals for conformance with contract plans and specifications and evaluate requests for information as part of engineering services during construction.
- →Travel may be required depending on the project assignment but most projects are local.
Requirements
~1 min read- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years of directly relevant experience in water and wastewater engineering.
- Registration as a Professional Engineer.
- Application of engineering principles including critical thinking, analysis, and innovative techniques.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with clients and project teams.
- Work well in a team environment.
- Highly motivated, articulate, and self-starting.
