Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field, plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree, plus a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.

 

Responsibilities

As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you’ll be a member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying the state-of-the-art ground operational system.

  • →Ground to Satellite communication knowledge
  • →System/Software design for cloud-based microservice architecture
  • →Collaborate with customers, mission partners, and other key stakeholders to translate requirements into robust system designs within a fast-moving timeline.
  • →Decomposition of end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases
  • →Coordination with developers and integration and test teams to ensure component development meet system mission needs.
  • Creative thinker with demonstrated success leading the systems development life cycle
  • Collaborative team player eager to provide technical leadership and position others for success
  • Thorough knowledge of technology trends and willingness to champion new ideas and process improvements
  • Strong presentation and communications skills with experience in the art of negotiation and the ability to meet challenging customer requirements with win-win solutions

Nice to Have

  • Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, design behavior with emphasis on:
    • Ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites andpayloads
    • Experience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, andanalysis
  • Software/Systems engineering: Experience decomposing the high-level space-groundsystems design into ground software/systems design.
  • Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies andtools such as, CAMEO or MagicDraw.
  • Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java,Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis,prototype algorithm development, or modeling.
  • Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in systemdesign and deployment.
  • Simulation and Modeling: Background in simulation and modeling analysis with toolslike STK, particularly in aerospace applications a plus

Workplace Options:This position can be remote, work on-site or hybrid.While on-site, you will be a part of the SDA team located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

This estimate represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors (geographic location, etc.). Actual pay may vary. This job posting will remain open until the position is filled.
USD $124,397.00 - USD $138,003.00 /Yr.
