Responsibilities

  • →Fieldwork such as soil, surface water, and groundwater sampling; drilling and contractor oversight; and remediation treatment system operation and maintenance.
  • →Chemical data and contaminant fate and transport evaluation.
  • →Well installation and aquifer testing.
  • →Groundwater and soil remedy evaluation, cost estimation, design calculations, and implementation.
  • →Environmental due diligence, regulatory compliance services, and permitting.
  • →Data analysis, including preparing maps, tables, and figures.
  • →Preparation of technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals. 
  • →Ability to work independently or in supporting roles on project teams.
  • →Drive personal, company, and rental vehicles to client or company project or office sites, and other business locations, as needed. 
  • Bachelor's degree in geology or hydrogeology (required).
  • Geologist in Training (GIT) certification and a desire to pursue professional licensure, if applicable. (preferred)

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of directly relevant experience in a consulting environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. (required)
  • Regular field work and overnight travel (up to 60%). (required)
  • Local to the Grand Rapids, MI area. (preferred)
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing. (required)
  • Strong oral and technical writing skills. (required)
  • Valid U.S. driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel. (required)
