Our office has many services, such as surgery, dental care, grooming, laser therapy, acupuncture, vaccines, and wellness plans. We also use advanced equipment, including an in-house laboratory and digital X-rays and dental X-rays.

Healthy Pets Veterinary Care is a fast-paced, full-service veterinary hospital, and we are growing! With our two locations merging into a brand-new veterinary facility, we are looking for an experienced, motivated Lead Veterinary Technician/Nurse to help guide and support our team through this exciting transition.

We are seeking an experienced veterinary professional who not only excels in patient care but also enjoys mentoring, supporting, and motivating fellow team members.

As a Lead Veterinary Technician, you will play an important role in maintaining daily hospital efficiency, providing hands-on support to our nursing and assistant teams, and helping establish consistent workflows as we transition into our new facility.

Responsibilities

    Provide hands-on guidance and support to veterinary technicians and assistants throughout the day.

    Assist support staff on the treatment floor to maintain efficient patient flow and timely appointments.

    Serve as a resource for team members, offering coaching, mentorship, and assistance when needed.

  • →

    Work closely with hospital management and veterinarians to maintain consistent medical standards and workflows.

  • →

    Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and a positive attitude.

  • →

    Help identify opportunities for improvement and contribute to a collaborative, solutions-focused work environment.

  • →

    Assist veterinarians during appointments while maintaining efficient patient flow.

  • →

    Accurately fill and administer medications as directed by veterinarians.

  • →

    Demonstrate proper and compassionate animal handling and restraint.

  • →

    Collect diagnostic samples, including blood draws and cytology samples.

  • →

    Place IV catheters and administer fluids and injections.

  • →

    Assist with surgical preparation, anesthesia induction, intubation, monitoring, and patient recovery.

    Assist with dental procedures, including full-mouth dental radiographs (dental experience is a MUST).

    Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked treatment area.

  • →

    Provide a positive, friendly experience for patients, clients, and fellow team members.

  • Previous experience as a veterinary technician/nurse in a busy, full-service veterinary hospital.

  • Strong technical skills and confidence in clinical procedures.

  • Natural leadership abilities and a passion for helping others succeed.

  • Excellent communication, organization, and time-management skills.

  • Ability to prioritize tasks and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.

  • Patience & Compassion: Remaining professional while still making teammates, clients, and patients feel as comfortable as possible regardless of the situation or challenges presented. Responding quickly and calmly to crisis while maintaining a high standard of patient care.

  • Client Satisfaction: Ensuring all activities and interactions result in the highest level of client satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Ability to work on weekends as required
  • Previous veterinary experience preferred
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance
  • Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
  • Basic math and the ability to calculate medication dosages
  • Basic computer skills, familiarity with MS office applications, etc.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure patient safety
USD $23.00 - USD $26.00 /Hr.
