About the Role
~1 min readThe Associate Recruiting Specialist – US Programs is an integral part of Latham’s Associate Recruiting team. This role will be responsible for coordinating recruiting efforts by supporting the US summer program, pre-law internship program, and external partnerships, while developing foundational management skills by mentoring junior team members. This role will be located in our Washington, DC office. Please note that this role may be eligible for a flexible working schedule that allows for a hybrid and in-office presence.
Responsibilities

- →Building and nurturing relationships with firm attorneys, recruiting teams, administrative departments, and industry professionals; represents the firm at recruiting events and external functions to strengthen the firm’s presence
- →Supporting compliance efforts by staying informed about federal and state legislation and best practices; assisting with the development and monitoring of budgets for recruiting initiatives
- →Collaborating with team members and committees to drive innovative strategies; providing administrative support to the Recruiting Committee by preparing recruitment statistics, reports, and presentations for internal and external audiences
- →Developing foundational management skills by overseeing the work of coordinators and assistants, providing constructive feedback, and supporting team staffing needs during peak periods
- →Promoting effective work practices, working as a team member, and showing respect for co-workers
- →Protecting and maintaining any highly sensitive, confidential, privileged, financial, and/or proprietary information that Latham & Watkins retains
We’d love to hear from you if you:
- →Demonstrate strong professional interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively at all organizational levels and handle confidential information discreetly
- →Possess advanced organizational skills to manage time, prioritize tasks, handle multiple deadlines, and analyze complex problems to make sound decisions independently
- →Display proficiency in MS Office, applicant tracking systems, and other necessary software, with the ability to supervise teams to ensure compliance and accuracy
And have:
- →A bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- →A minimum of five (5) years of experience in legal recruitment or professional services
- →A minimum of five (5) years of cumulative experience
