Cassia, a nonprofit, mission-driven senior living organization, is seeking an experienced and visionary Vice President of Philanthropy to serve as the chief philanthropy officer for the Cassia Foundation and lead fundraising, donor engagement, stewardship, and philanthropic strategy across Cassia. Reporting to the President and CEO and serving as a member of Cassia's senior leadership team, this role will help advance our mission of fostering fullness of life for older adults in the spirit of Christ's love by building meaningful relationships that inspire generosity and mission impact.
As the Vice President of Philanthropy, you will lead a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, planned giving, annual giving, grants, campaigns, foundation relations, corporate partnerships, donor stewardship, and community engagement. The ideal candidate brings at least 10 years of progressive fundraising leadership experience and is a strategic, relationship-driven leader with demonstrated fundraising success securing major and planned gifts. You'll cultivate a culture of generosity, connect donors with meaningful opportunities, and partner with organizational leaders, board members, community leaders, and donors to advance Cassia's mission.
Position Type: Full-Time, benefits eligible position
Wage Range: $175,000 - $210,000 annually depending on experience

- Develop and implement a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with Cassia's strategic priorities, including measurable goals, key performance indicators, and long-range objectives. •
- Lead fundraising activities across major gifts, annual giving, planned giving, campaigns, grants, corporate partnerships, foundation support, and endowment development.
- Personally manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects; cultivate, solicit, and steward transformational gifts that advance strategic priorities.
- Direct the growth and long-term sustainability of the Cassia Foundation, including capital campaigns, special initiatives, and strategic funding opportunities.
- Partner with executive leadership, board members, operational leaders, and community leaders to strengthen philanthropic engagement and identify mission-centered funding opportunities.
- Develop compelling cases for support and ensure donors receive meaningful stewardship and reporting that demonstrates the impact of their generosity.
- Lead, mentor, and develop the philanthropy team while fostering collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
- Serve as the primary staff liaison to the Cassia Board related to giving and strengthen board and volunteer philanthropic leadership.
- Develop and manage the Foundation budget, use data and performance metrics to guide decision-making, and ensure exceptional stewardship of charitable resources.
- Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and regulatory fundraising standards and maintain appropriate confidentiality and data integrity.
- Serve as a visible ambassador for Cassia's mission, vision, values, and Christian heritage through storytelling, relationship-building, and community engagement.
- Strong commitment to Cassia's mission, vision, and values.
- Bachelor's degree in philanthropy, nonprofit management, business, communications, marketing, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible fundraising leadership experience.
- Demonstrated success securing major and planned gifts and leading comprehensive fundraising programs and strategic initiatives.
- Proven experience managing and developing high-performing teams and collaborating with boards, executive leaders, and community stakeholders.
- Exceptional communication, relationship-building, presentation, and storytelling skills.
- Commitment to ethical fundraising practices, donor stewardship, and responsible management of charitable resources.
- CFRE or CFRM certification preferred.
- Experience in senior living, healthcare, faith-based organizations, human services, or related nonprofit environments preferred.
- Experience leading major capital or comprehensive campaigns and managing multi-site fundraising programs preferred.
