Job Title: Export Sales & Distribution Partner - Tanzania Location: Tanzania Reporting to: Head of Exports Note: This position is open to Tanzanian nationals and individuals holding a valid Tanzanian work permit. Role Summary To drive commercial growth and market performance within the assigned country by ensuring effective route-to-market execution, strengthening distributor management, and maximizing in-market presence. The role requires extensive field engagement to enhance market coverage, improve execution standards, build strong customer relationships, and deliver sustainable sales growth in line with business objectives. Key Responsibilities 1. Sales & Commercial Delivery • Deliver and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets. • Drive daily market execution and sales performance tracking. • Identify sales gaps and implement corrective action plans. • Support achievement of volume, value, and profitability targets. 2. Route-to-Market (RTM) & Market Coverage • Develop and optimize route plans, coverage models, and market beats. • Ensure full market coverage across assigned territories and identify white-space opportunities. • Monitor route productivity including calls, strike rates, and drop sizes. • Strengthen execution standards across all trade channels. 3. Distributor Management • Manage distributor performance on sales, stock holding, collections, coverage, and execution. • Ensure distributor compliance with agreed KPIs and service levels. • Support onboarding, capability development, replacement, and performance management of distributors where necessary. • Monitor distributor financial exposure and operational risks. 4. Direct Sales & Order Management • Collect and process orders directly and through distributor teams. • Ensure timely order execution and stock replenishment. • Eliminate business losses arising from execution inefficiencies or supply gaps. 5. Channel & Customer Management • Drive execution across General Trade, Wholesale, Modern Trade, HORECA, and Key Accounts. • Ensure product availability, pricing compliance, visibility, and customer service standards across channels. • Build strong relationships with customers and trade partners within the market. 6. Brand Visibility & Merchandising • Ensure excellent in-market execution, shelf placement, displays, and POSM utilization. • Drive visibility and market share growth for our client brands. • Supervise merchandisers and monitor execution quality and productivity. 7. Pricing & Market Intelligence • Monitor competitor pricing, activities, product launches, and market trends. • Provide real-time market intelligence and pricing updates. • Recommend commercial interventions to strengthen competitiveness and marketpenetration. 8. Marketing Activations & Promotions • Execute trade activations, promotions, wet sampling, and visibility campaigns. • Coordinate with Marketing teams to ensure strong execution of campaigns. • Monitor and report on promotion ROI and effectiveness. 9. Collections & Financial Discipline • Ensure 100% compliance on collections and payment controls. • Maintain zero tolerance for payment delays, bad debts, or financial losses. • Monitor distributor credit exposure and escalate risks proactively. 10. Compliance & Reporting • Ensure compliance with local regulatory, statutory, and business requirements. • Maintain accurate market documentation and reporting. • Submit daily, weekly, and monthly reports covering sales, distributors, market intelligence, and execution updates. Requirements Ideal Candidate Profile a) Education • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Sales, or related field (mandatory). • MBA is an added advantage. b) Experience • 5–8 years’ experience in FMCG sales and market execution. • Strong FMCG market execution experience. • Proven distributor management and Route-to-Market (RTM) expertise. • Ability to independently drive sales growth and market development. • Fluent in English and the local language. • Valid driver's license (own vehicle is an added advantage). c) Skills & Competencies • Strong commercial and execution capability. • Deep understanding of FMCG route-to-market models. • Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills. • Strong analytical and problem-solving ability. • High ownership mindset and accountability. • Ability to work independently within fast-paced markets. d) What Success Looks Like • Consistent achievement of sales and volume growth targets. • Strong distributor performance and market coverage. • Improved brand visibility and execution standards across channels. • Strong collection compliance with minimal financial exposure. • Effective market intelligence driving commercial decisions. • Sustainable growth and expansion within the assigned country.
