Role Summary:
The Operations Manager leads a fast-paced operation, ensuring freight moves accurately and on time leveraging internal staff capabilities and coordinating with drivers and equipment to achieve operational excellence. You’ll guide a team, coordinate workloads, and keep processes running smoothly to deliver top-tier service. With real-time problem solving, resource planning, and hands-on leadership, this role makes a direct impact on operational efficiency and customer experience. Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 7:30am – 4:00pm
Work Arrangement: On-site

Compensation: Salary Range $70,000 - $90,000
Work Location & Environment: 79 Rail Park Way, Rosser, MB R4B 0A8; Dock environment

Key Accountabilities:
In this role, you will:

Lead the day-to-day operations of the terminal, ensuring the safe, efficient, and timely movement of freight while meeting service and productivity expectations.
Provide leadership, coaching, and direction to Dispatchers, Operations Coordinators, and Dockworkers, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Plan, coordinate, and oversee daily operational activities, including inbound/outbound freight, dock operations, dispatch, scheduling, and resource allocation.
Monitor operational performance, staffing levels, and workflow throughout the day, making adjustments to meet customer and business requirements.
Develop and maintain employee schedules to support operational demands while effectively managing labour costs.
Lead performance management activities, including coaching, performance reviews, attendance management, discipline, and employee development.
Ensure compliance with Company policies, health and safety standards, transportation regulations, and operational procedures.
Partner with the Terminal Manager to implement operational initiatives, improve efficiencies, and achieve departmental objectives.
Analyze operational metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs), identifying opportunities to improve productivity, service performance, and overall operational effectiveness.
Investigate and resolve operational issues, customer concerns, and service failures in a timely and professional manner.
Coordinate personnel and equipment utilization to maximize productivity and ensure service commitments are achieved.
Maintain operational records, reports, communication logs, and documentation required to support efficient terminal operations.
Foster open communication across Operations, Customer Service, Safety, and other departments to ensure seamless execution of daily operations.
Ensure employees complete all required training, including mandatory regulatory or company training.
Support employee onboarding, training, and ongoing development to build a high-performing operations team.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
We’re looking for someone who brings:

Education & Experience:

Minimum 3–5 years of leadership experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse, or LTL operations.
Experience leading multiple operational teams in a fast-paced environment.
Strong understanding of LTL transportation, freight movement, dock operations, dispatch, scheduling, and customer service.
Experience with labour planning, performance management, and employee coaching.
Experience working in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
Post-secondary education in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field is considered an asset.
