Assistant Animal Shelter Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Animal Shelter Operations Manager, the Assistant Animal Shelter Manager is responsible for the care of animals at the Conroe Animal Shelter and the management of all staff on location. The position is responsible for day-to-day operations and adoption program.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to consistently perform multiple diverse tasks simultaneously, detail oriented and work well under pressure.
- Supervisor/manager experience preferred.
Special Requirements:
Valid Texas Class "C" Driver's license or higher and insurable under our auto policy.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Must be able to communicate with the public in a professional manner at all times.
- Must be able to read and write; basic math skills are required.
- Must be able to work around animals for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work emergency and on-call hours.
- Patient, courteous, and work well and efficient under stressful
- Ability to work unscheduled hours, including long shifts, late hours, certain holidays and Assigned schedule may regularly include either a Saturday and/or Sunday.
- Ability to drive, stand, bend, squat, walk and talk for up to eight-ten hours a day; ability to lift 50 lbs.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is heavy and requires the ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force occasionally with assistance, up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force consistently to move objects. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, fingering, grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, standing, stooping, talking, visual acuity and walking.
