Whitecaps Griller

We are hiring crew members 16+ to work seasonally during Whitecaps games and other special events at LMCU Ballpark as a Griller. This opportunity will work with our concessions team in one of many areas with grill stations along with other responsibilities as well. We are looking for someone who can promote a positive and safe environment while providing excellent customer service and following our standard operational guidelines.

Who we are: We’re the West Michigan Whitecaps, Class High-A Minor League affiliate of the Detroit Tigers. The Whitecaps are in the FUN business and our mission is to provide affordable family entertainment that strengthens the West Michigan community. What you’ll do: You’ll be a major component of our Food Crew operation at the ballpark! You will primarily operate grills and other cooking equipment safely and efficiently, ensure food quality/presentation meet operational guidelines, maintain cleanliness of grilling stations and surrounding work areas, assist in restocking food products to ensure fast service during busy periods, and finally work as part of a team to ensure all areas are covered during high-volume periods so that all customer needs are met. With this position, what you’re doing will be crucial to the success of the team -- and you’ll have a lot of fun doing it.

What you need: Terrific customer service, excellent communication skills, and an enthusiasm for sharing your excitement for the Whitecaps brand. The ability to multitask, organize, and adjust to change quickly along with flexibility, since every day here is different. You’ll need a willingness to work a lot of nights, holidays, and weekends. Some positions may have preferred prior experience, but our training program will set you up for success no matter what your experience!
