How You’ll Help Us Better Serve Our Clients

Due to continued growth within our Commercial Real Estate group, we are seeking a Partner (7+ year call) with an established practice and demonstrated experience advising on sophisticated commercial real estate transactions. This is an excellent opportunity for a lawyer looking to join one of Vancouver’s leading commercial real estate teams and continue growing a strong practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Our Commercial Real Estate group is consistently recognized as one of the leading practices in British Columbia and has been repeatedly named on Business in Vancouver’s list of the “Biggest Real Estate Deals in BC” for 19 consecutive years. We act for a broad range of clients across the real estate industry, including developers, investors, landlords, tenants, lenders, institutional clients, public and private sector organizations, not-for-profits, and First Nations and their economic development corporations on some of the province’s most significant and high-profile transactions and development projects.

We are known for our practical, business-oriented approach and our ability to support clients through all stages of complex commercial real estate matters, including acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, financing, development, and large-scale mixed-use projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

This is an ideal opportunity for a senior commercial real estate lawyer looking to continue building and growing their practice alongside a well-established and highly regarded team in the Vancouver market. You will work closely with sophisticated clients on a broad range of commercial real estate matters across multiple asset classes and industries, while also contributing to the continued growth and development of the practice group.

The ideal candidate will have skills and experience in the following areas:

• commercial leasing for both landlords and tenants;
• drafting and negotiating partnership, co-ownership, and joint venture agreements;
• drafting and negotiating purchase and sale agreements;
• advising on financing arrangements for a variety of investment and development projects;
• Land Title Office filings, including subdivision and strata plan filings;
• advising on commercial real estate development matters, including municipal and servicing agreements;
• conducting due diligence reviews, analysis, reporting, and risk assessment; and
• structuring real estate acquisition, disposition, and financing transactions.

The successful candidate will also bring:

• an established client base and demonstrated business development experience;
• strong technical, drafting, and negotiation skills;
• sound business judgment and a practical, client-focused approach;
• the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment; and
• a demonstrated ability to support the growth and development of associates through active mentorship, training, and the delegation of meaningful client work and transaction experience;
  

Compensation 

Compensation for this role is expected to be competitive and commensurate with the successful candidate’s experience, established practice, client base, and overall strategic fit within the firm.
