This role focuses on supporting Private Equity clients across the full investment lifecycle, from due diligence through to post-acquisition value creation.
As a Manager, you will work directly with Private Equity funds and portfolio company management teams to identify value drivers, assess operational performance, and support delivery of transformation initiatives.
You will operate in a high-performance, time-sensitive environment, where clear analysis, strong execution, and credibility with senior stakeholders are critical. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to the growth of dss+’s Private Equity business in Japan and across APAC.
Private Equity firms require rapid, data-driven insights and practical execution to drive value across their portfolios.
At dss+, we partner with investors to support key investment decisions and deliver operational improvements. Our work spans operational due diligence, post-merger integration, performance improvement, and sustainability initiatives, with a clear focus on value creation.
This role provides exposure to multiple sectors and transactions, working with both investment teams and portfolio company leadership.
You will contribute to high-impact engagements supporting Private Equity clients and portfolio companies across Japan and APAC.
Responsibilities

Support and deliver operational due diligence and post-acquisition programmes (e.g. integration, carve-out, performance transformation).

Identify key value drivers and operational risks, translating analysis into clear, actionable recommendations.

Work closely with portfolio company management teams to support execution of improvement initiatives.

Apply structured project management and PMO disciplines to ensure delivery against tight timelines.

Engage with Private Equity stakeholders, maintaining a professional and credible client presence.

Support development of proposals and contribute to growing relationships with PE clients.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, risk, sustainability) to deliver integrated solutions.

Contribute to the development of dss+’s Private Equity capabilities and market presence.
Work closely with investment teams and portfolio company leadership on live transactions and transformation programmes.
Gain experience across both analysis and implementation, supporting real value creation initiatives.
Work across Japan and APAC, with opportunities to contribute to international engagements.
Build strong consulting, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills in a fast-paced environment.
You are a structured, commercially aware professional with strong analytical capability and experience working in Private Equity or related environments. You are comfortable operating under pressure and focused on delivering clear, practical outcomes.
Experience in management consulting, Private Equity, or corporate strategy/operations roles.
Exposure to Private Equity transactions or portfolio company operations preferred.
Experience in operational improvement, transformation, or due diligence projects.
Understanding of key value drivers in asset-intensive or industrial businesses.
Experience in sectors such as energy, industrial manufacturing, chemicals, or infrastructure is an advantage.
Strong analytical and structured problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
Proven project management / PMO capability, with ability to manage delivery under tight timelines.
Ability to communicate clearly and concisely with senior stakeholders.
Strong stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.
Commercial mindset, with understanding of value creation and performance improvement.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multicultural team environment.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline (MBA advantageous).
Fluency in Japanese and English (written and spoken).
Willingness to travel across Japan and APAC, including short-notice client requirements.
