Finance Manager

Finance Manager Location: Pemba, Mozambique Department: Finance Position Type: Full-time Job Grade: To be determined Reports To: Financial Controller Job Purpose: We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Manager to oversee our financial accounting activities and support the Financial Controller in managing finance operations in compliance with corporate policies, procedures, and local regulations. Key Responsibilities: Financial Reporting: Produce management accounts in accordance with the established timetable and participate in the preparation of statutory financial statements. Transaction Oversight: Ensure all financial transactions are accurately recorded, aligning with the approved budget and supported by valid documentation. Financial Control: Establish and maintain financial discipline by reviewing all general ledger reconciliations monthly, including sub-ledger reviews and ad-hoc reconciliations. Team Management: Monitor accounting staff deliverables to ensure compliance with the established timetable. Inventory Management: Responsible for tracking and valuing gemstone inventory. Asset Administration: Manage company asset information. Invoicing & Compliance: Handle invoicing to third parties and follow up with clients, banks, customs brokers, and others to ensure compliance and timely receipt of funds. Audit Coordination: Serve as the primary point of contact for external and internal audits. Data Preparation: Prepare supporting information and analyses for monthly/annual reviews and ad-hoc queries. Additional Duties: Perform other tasks as deemed necessary by the line manager. Qualifications and Experience: Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics. Minimum of 10 years of experience in Finance Management. Strong knowledge of finance principles and practices. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure. Basic computer skills are required. Organization: Strong time management, mental and physical organization, and the ability to work well in a team. Resilience: Ability to adapt and solve problems effectively under challenging conditions. Special Conditions: Flexible working hours, including after-hours and weekends, as required.
