Cal State East Bay's beautiful main campus is located in the Hayward hills with panoramic views of the San Francisco Bay shoreline. About the Role
~1 min readThis Concord Center Support Coordinator coordinates the assignment and scheduling of all Concord Center facilities for classroom instruction, campus events and facility rentals to off-campus groups and individuals, as well as oversees the contractual agreements associated with such rentals. It also provides some administrative support for faculty-driven research at the Ohlone Ecocultural Garden and Galindo Creek Field Station. Moreover, this position functions as the lead coordinator for faculty and student support services at Concord, most importantly East Bay Student Nursing Association, Nursing Department, PaCE, and Osher Lifelong Learning requested events & activities.
Since this position provides student, faculty, staff and customer support for all Concord Center onsite activities, this is a 100% in-person position (no remote work option is available).

~1 min readEntry to this classification requires a fully functional knowledge of and skill in standard office procedures and practices, as well as an ability to understand and operate in a variety of organizational structures. Additionally, incumbents are expected to have a thorough knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and be able to clearly communicate orally and in writing. Some positions may require a knowledge of business mathematics beyond basic arithmetic. The ability to use and quickly learn new office support technology systems and software packages is also a prerequisite.
These entry qualifications would normally be obtained through a high school program, technical/vocational program, or their equivalents combined with several years of related office work experience.

- Ability to organize and plan work and projects, including handling multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships within internal and external key stakeholders and serve as a liaison for the administrative support unit.
- Ability to communicate information to staff, faculty, students, senior campus officials, outside agencies, and community members in a courteous manner with an emphasis on customer service.
- Working knowledge of special event planning and facilities reservation process within a higher education environment.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of student information database systems and facility reservation software.
- Ability to take initiative and independently plan, organize, coordinate and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
- Skilled in the research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs, including skill in the collection, evaluation, and interpretation of data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
- Expertise in investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications. Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form.
- Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with assistance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using a computer within a Windows environment and operating standard office equipment, including a calculator.
Satisfactory completion of a background check (including LiveScan, as appropriate), that may include, but is not limited to: criminal records check, verification of academic credentials, licenses, certificates, credit history, professional references and/or verification of work history is required for employment. Cal State East Bay will issue a conditional offer of employment to the selected candidate, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Unsatisfactory results may also affect the continued employment of current Cal State East Bay employees who were conditionally offered the position.
All background checks are conducted through the university's third party vendor, Accurate. LiveScan is conducted through the University Police Department.
