We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Student Conduct Coordinator (Student Services Professional II). Duties and Responsibilities |
Under the direction of the Director of Student Conduct, and in accordance with Title 5 and current Executive Orders and policies governing student conduct, the Student Conduct Coordinator assists with and supports the Student Conduct process, including the investigation and adjudication of allegations of student misconduct involving student organizations, academic, and/or behavioral misconduct by individuals. The Student Conduct Coordinator collaborates with the Director, Associate, and Assistant Directors in meeting with students; conducts interviews to document reports and requests; assists in the gathering and review of evidence; documents administrative reviews, prepares resolution agreement drafts and hearing scripts. Under the supervision of student conduct professionals, the Student Conduct Coordinator creates, assesses and tracks appropriate and effective sanctions. The Student Conduct Coordinator connects students with university resources to aid student success through appropriate referrals. Under the supervision of student conduct professionals, the Student Conduct Coordinator assists in issuing warnings, sends letters, and manages cases within the Maxient database and maintains highly confidential Student Conduct records following current State and Federal guidelines. The Student Conduct Coordinator assists in developing and presenting appropriate educational student programming and outreach materials. Other duties as assigned. |

Essential Qualifications |
Bachelor’s degree or the equivalent from an accredited four-year college or university in one of the behavioral sciences, public administration, business administration or a job-related field and two years of professional experience in one of the student services program areas or a related field. A master’s degree in a job-related field may be substituted for one year of professional experience. Additional specialized and relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. General knowledge of the methods and problems of organizational management, research, and interview techniques. Ability to interpret and apply program rules and regulations, obtain factual and interpretative information through interviews, and advise students individually and in groups on complex student-related matters. Ability to reason logically and use initiative in planning work assignments and in implementing long-range program improvements. Ability to plan, develop, coordinate, supervise, and organize programs and activities. Ability to interact with a diverse student population, faculty, staff, and the public. Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to acquire knowledge of campus procedures, activities, and of the overall organization A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to complete the background check satisfactorily may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position. |

Preferred Qualifications |
Experience working with university students or student conduct. Demonstrates knowledge of the university student culture at CSUF and the Student Affairs profession. Demonstrates ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriately handle sensitive information and interactions with students. Demonstrates knowledge of application of educational approach to student conduct in a university setting. Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Demonstrates ability to function well independently as well as part of a collaborative team. |
