PURPOSE OF JOB CLASS (NATURE OF WORK)
In the Department of Developmental Services this class is accountable for reviewing fiscal and operational practices of contracted private agencies to ensure they adhere to fiscal obligations and that quality services are provided to consumers in accordance with Agency standards.\r\n
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
\r\n Considerable knowledge of\r\n \r\n relevant state and federal laws, agency policies and procedures;\r\n modern methods of care, program design, treatment and education of individuals with an intellectual disability living in various community settings;\r\n \r\n \r\n Knowledge of\r\n \r\n resource monitoring and evaluation;\r\n business finance and accounting procedures;\r\n \r\n \r\n Skills\r\n \r\n interpersonal skills;\r\n oral and written communication skills;\r\n \r\n \r\n Ability to\r\n \r\n analyze and critique private agency, organization and individual practitioner's recordkeeping and financial statements;\r\n utilize computer software.\r\n \r\n \r\n\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - GENERAL EXPERIENCE
Six (6) years of professional experience in a human services setting providing services and supports to individuals with an intellectual disability.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SPECIAL EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of the General Experience must have been conducting fiscal analysis and oversight of individual budgets/plans or basic auditing of business and accounting information and practices.\r\n
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS - SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED
\r\n\r\n College training may be substituted for the General Experience on the basis of fifteen (15) semester hours equaling one-half (1/2) year of experience to a maximum of four (4) years for a Bachelor's degree.\r\n For state employees three (3) years of experience as a Developmental Services Compliance Coordinator and a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, education, finance, health care administration or a related field may be substituted for the General and Special Experience.\r\n\r\n\r\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
\r\n Experience with Microsoft Office - Outlook, Word, Excel (Utilizing functions and developing reports in Excel)\r\n Experience demonstrating oral and written communication skills\r\n Experience with the oversight of staffing ratios as described in LON assessments and individual plans\r\n Experience effectively communicating assessment findings to provider administrative staff and ensuring the required corrective action has been completed\r\n Experience with DDS’ abuse and neglect reporting requirements, investigations, and ability to identify signs of potential abuse or neglect\r\n Experience conducting fiscal analysis and oversight of budgets\r\n Experience with DDS’ rate structure\r\n Experience providing oversight of quality service reviews and plans of correction\r\n\r\n
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
\r\n\r\n Incumbents in this class may be required to travel.\r\n Incumbents in this class may be required to possess and retain a valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
