About the Role

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and adapt your approach to diverse audiences including children, young people, adults and people with disability
  • A passion for delivering high-quality, customer-focused visitor experiences in a dynamic environment
  • Experience or capability in delivering First Nations content with integrity, cultural sensitivity and respect
  • Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including community members
  • Sound organisational and administration skills, including managing emails, bookings and enquiries
  • Awareness and commitment to safe work practices and risk management in a public environment
  • Confidence using basic technology systems to support program delivery and customer service

  • Aboriginal identified positions are developed where Aboriginal identity, cultural knowledge or connections are a genuine aspect of the role. Positions are specifically noted under the provisions of the NSW Anti-discrimination Act (1977) for Aboriginal people who meet the following criteria:
    • is of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, and
    • identifies as an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, and
    • is accepted as a such by the Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander community
  • Requirement to work to a roster which will include weekends and holidays.
  • This position undertakes child related work as determined by the Child Protection (Working with Children) Act, 2012. The position needs a valid clearance and clearance number prior to commencing this position.
  • This role will require a current Senior First Aid Certificate or willingness to gain a Senior First Aid Certificate prior to commencement of employment

Placemaking NSW is responsible for managing and caring for some of Sydney’s most iconic harbourside venues and locations, including The Rocks, Circular Quay, Barangaroo, Darling Harbour, Sydney Fish Markets Public Spaces and White Bay Power Station. We also lead the planning and delivery of the Bays West Urban Renewal Precinct, a state significant project that will bring new homes, jobs, and public spaces to 77 hectares of government-owned land just 2 kilometres from Sydney's CBD.
