Based in Newington, you will lead the delivery of a diverse portfolio of major infrastructure and construction projects across the Duratec's Energy and Defence sectors. This is an exciting opportunity for a proven construction or infrastructure professional looking to take the next step into a broader operational leadership role. Combining project delivery, tendering, business development and the mentoring of emerging leaders, this role will draw on your experience across Defence, Energy, commercial construction and major infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities

  • Lead tendering, estimating, reporting and forecasting activities, ensuring projects are competitively secured and delivered in line with commercial and operational objectives.
  • Drive strong financial outcomes through effective budget management, cost control, forecasting and oversight of project profitability across a portfolio of works.
  • Build and maintain strong client and stakeholder relationships while identifying new opportunities to support business growth and long-term partnerships.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture by ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements, effectively managing risk and promoting safe work practices across all operations.
  • Play a key role in developing staff and project teams across the business through mentorship, leadership and ongoing support.
  • Relevant Trade Qualification or a tertiary qualification in Engineering, Construction Management or related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience delivering major infrastructure, Energy and Defence projects, with a strong understanding of complex construction and operational environments.
  • Proven track record delivering complex civil, infrastructure and construction projects within highly regulated environments.
  • Extensive project delivery experience including budgeting, program management, cost control, stakeholder engagement, subcontractor management, contract administration and statutory approvals.
  • Sound understanding of Defence and Energy sector requirements, including compliance frameworks, client expectations and project delivery challenges.
  • Experience with piping and high-voltage (HV) infrastructure projects will be advantageous 
  • Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills, with the ability to lead teams, influence stakeholders and drive successful project outcomes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Project, Excel and Microsoft Office Suite.
