Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor, Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE)

• We are seeking a passionate Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor to join CRADLE, a globally recognised research centre at the forefront of assessment, feedback and digital innovation in higher education.

• CRADLE conducts research in the area of assessment and digital education and collaborates with Deakin Learning Futures and faculties through joint initiatives and with a range of industry partners, other higher education collaborators in Australia and internationally.

• →Drive teaching and learning excellence by leading innovative research, curriculum development, and assessment practices that enhance student success and educational outcomes.
• →Lead impactful research in assessment, feedback and digital education, securing external funding and translating research into meaningful outcomes.
• →Develop and mentor emerging researchers and academics through doctoral supervision, capability building and creating opportunities for research leadership and career development.
• →Provide strategic leadership and engagement by leading academic teams, fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration, building external partnerships, and contributing to key strategic initiatives.

Key Selection Criteria

• Completion of a PhD or equivalent qualification; or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
• Demonstrated record of achievement (Level C) or significant, impactful and long-standing record of achievement (Level D) in research, teaching and engagement in areas of CRADLE’s priority foci. This includes an internationally and nationally recognised research reputation in assessment and feedback or related areas underpinned by publications in high-quality higher education journals or similar.
• Experience in securing (Level C) or demonstrated success in securing (Level D) research funding, leading research projects with successful and timely completion
• Experience in (Level C) or demonstrated track record in (Level D) employing a variety of empirical research methods and innovative conceptual or theoretical framings
• Experience (Level C) or demonstrated success and passion (Level D) for leadership of teaching, research and/or administration with associated interdisciplinary written and oral communication skills
• Awareness of drivers of contemporary higher education research and practice, including Indigenous knowledges and generative artificial intelligence
• Evidence of impact and influence within the discipline and broader academic community
