Assistant/Associate Professor, Civil and Environmental Engineering

Wilkes University invites applicants for a tenure track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level to join the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department starting August 2027. The department offers exclusively undergraduate degrees with a long tradition of personalized learning and teaching experiences, featuring small class sizes, publishable undergraduate research, and hands-on projects. The successful applicant would be expected to complement the existing engineering faculty by building a research, and/or service program with undergraduate students as an integral component.

Candidates must have earned a doctoral degree at the time of appointment and be working toward a Professional Engineering license. Professional experience in Water Resources Engineering and Hydraulic Engineering or a closely related field will be considered favorably. Expertise in fluid flow, water resources and process design is desired. Candidates with other relevant experience will be considered.

Duties would be focused on flexibility in teaching foundation courses for engineering and science majors, bringing expertise to upper-level engineering electives and contributing to the continued development of the program. The successful candidate must have the ability to provide outstanding classroom, laboratory, and in-field instruction for engineering and science courses and a strong interest in working with undergraduate students.
