About DELV

DELV’s place-based practice unites creative, human-centered design with a pragmatic and collaborative spirit, crafting authentic contemporary spaces anchored in community and context. Our approach is built on the common purpose of enriching our communities through the power of thoughtful design. Our process is deliberately divergent and iterative, balancing opportunities and constraints with optimism. We are research-based and relationship driven. We respect cultural, environmental, and economic forces in the pursuit of quality and meaningful solutions that endure. We foster connections through thoughtful engagement to guide our clients through transformational work.

We are looking for

· A self-starter who enjoys creative autonomy and takes initiative.

· Someone who takes their craft seriously, but themselves…not so much.

· A curious teammate who keeps learning and invests in the team’s success.

· Someone who enjoys moving between roles on varied projects and collaborative teams.

The role

As a senior project architect, you’ll lead complex projects and the teams delivering them, from programming and existing-building assessments through construction and closeout. You’ll provide technical direction, lead client and consultant coordination, and bring experienced judgment to design and delivery decisions. Your role also includes mentoring staff and strengthening project quality across the studio.

· Establish project delivery strategies, direct team responsibilities, and guide complex technical and design decisions.

· Lead client and consultant coordination, manage expectations, and help project managers maintain scope, schedule, and fee.

· Anticipate and resolve code, existing-condition, and constructability issues while protecting design intent.

· Direct and review drawings and specifications, lead project quality reviews, and contribute to QA/QC on other studio projects.

· Guide construction administration and mentor architects and designers, sharing practical knowledge and improving delivery practices.

What you bring

· 10–14 years of professional architectural experience and a bachelor’s and/or master’s degree in architecture.

· An architectural license in Indiana or your state of residence.

· Demonstrated success leading complex projects, multidisciplinary teams, and client relationships.

· Strong technical judgment in codes, building systems, detailing, constructability, and construction administration.

· Proficiency with Revit and Adobe Creative Suite, with the ability to direct and review documentation; SketchUp proficiency preferred.

· Experience mentoring staff and reviewing others’ work for quality and completeness.

· Experience with adaptive reuse, renovation, and/or historic preservation projects strongly preferred.

Salary within this range will reflect experience, qualifications, and demonstrated project leadership.
