Senior Front End Developer

We are looking for an experienced Front End Developer to join our team. You will design and build intuitive, high-performance product interfaces and internal tools, working in an AI-native manner across the full front-end development lifecycle, from analysis and planning through implementation, review, and testing.

Our products are used by shipping company engineers and captains to optimise the technical operations and navigation of their vessels based on our in-house developed AI and optimisation algorithms. You will need to gain a good understanding of the domain and our research output to design improvements that make our backend infrastructure scalable and cover our customers’ needs.

  Work in an AI-native manner across all stages of the front-end development lifecycle (including analysis, design, implementation, code review, and testing) to maximise productivity and engineering precision.

  Deliver intuitive and visually appealing user interfaces that enhance usability and overall user experience.

  Develop and maintain React-based frontend applications with clean, scalable, and maintainable code.

  Integrate frontend components with backend services, including in-house AI and optimization algorithms for vessel technical operations and navigation.

  Optimize application performance to ensure fast load times, responsiveness, and smooth interactions.

  Collaborate closely with backend engineers, architects, and DevOps teams to deliver end‑to‑end product features.

  Contribute to frontend standards, code review culture, and the continuous improvement of the team's engineering practices.

  Work with modern build tools and development workflows to ensure efficient delivery and high-quality releases.

• BSc/MSc degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Web / Front End Developer, preferably with React as the primary stack. 

• Strong proficiency in React.js and its core principles (component lifecycle, hooks, context, reconciliation). 

• Ability and demonstrated willingness to work in an AI-native manner; leveraging AI coding assistants, agent workflows, and LLM-assisted code review as integral parts of daily engineering practice to improve productivity and quality. 

• Solid understanding of JavaScript (ES6+), including asynchronous patterns, closures, and module systems. 

• Hands-on experience with Redux (React Redux, Redux Toolkit).

• Excellent knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3; proficiency with SASS/SCSS and CSS Modules. 

• Good understanding of CSS Flexbox, Grid, and responsive design principles. 

• Experience with component libraries such as Material UI (MUI) or Bootstrap v4+. 

• Familiarity with Tailwind CSS for utility-first styling workflows. 

• Proficient with Git for version control in collaborative, multi-team environments. 

• Experience with TanStack libraries (Query, Table, or Router) for data fetching, server state management, and table rendering. 

• Experience with build tools such as Webpack or Vite, and Node.js/npm workflows. 

• Strong interpersonal skills, strong interest in emerging technologies/AI tooling/front-end engineering trends.

• Collaborative mindset and willingness to work across product, design, and backend teams.

• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment with evolving requirements.

• Attention to detail and commitment to high-quality, user-centred deliverables.

• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities. 

• Experience with backend technologies such as Java and/or Python.

• Experience building or prompting AI-powered UI features (LLM integrations, copilot interfaces, agent-driven tooling). 

• Experience with real-time data interfaces - WebSocket, STOMP, or similar streaming protocols. 

• Familiarity with data visualisation libraries such as Highcharts, Recharts, or D3. 

• Experience with mapping libraries (Leaflet, Mapbox) or grid libraries (AG-Grid). 

• Knowledge of additional frontend frameworks (Vue.js, Angular, etc.).

• Familiarity with Scrum or other Agile methodologies.

• Understanding of UI/UX best practices beyond implementation.

• Exposure to AI‑driven or optimization‑based systems.
