Automation Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer with a strong background in Managed Services to design, develop, and maintain automation solutions that improve operational efficiency, enhance service delivery, and deliver better customer outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about eliminating repetitive tasks, integrating business systems, and leveraging modern automation platforms and AI technologies to solve complex operational challenges.

You will collaborate closely with service delivery, engineering, operations, and customer-facing teams to identify automation opportunities, build scalable workflows, and drive continuous improvement across the organisation.

• Proven experience as an Automation Engineer within a Managed Service Provider (MSP) environment
• Strong understanding of MSP operational workflows and service delivery processes
• Experience designing, developing, and maintaining automation solutions that improve operational efficiency
• Ability to identify automation opportunities across technical and business operations

• Hands-on experience with:
  • Microsoft Power Platform
  • Power Automate
  • Power Apps
  • Azure Logic Apps
  • n8n
  • Strong experience building integrations using:
    • REST APIs
    • GraphQL APIs
    • Webhooks
    • OAuth
    • Experience developing custom connectors and middleware integrations

• Experience with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and building MCP servers
• Experience integrating AI services into operational workflows
• Proficiency in Python and/or PowerShell
• Experience with Git, source control, and CI/CD pipelines
• Passion for emerging AI technologies and automation frameworks

• Experience working with:

• Design, develop, and maintain workflow automations across MSP and business systems
• Build scalable automation solutions that reduce manual effort and improve operational consistency
• Develop reusable automation frameworks, templates, and best practices
• Create monitoring and alerting capabilities for automation workflows

• Develop integrations between cloud applications using REST APIs, GraphQL APIs, webhooks, and middleware platforms
• Design and implement automation using Microsoft Power Automate and n8n
• Develop custom connectors where native integrations are unavailable
• Troubleshoot and resolve automation failures, API issues, and integration challenges

• Build and maintain Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers to securely expose business systems and workflows to AI platforms
• Integrate AI services into operational processes where appropriate
• Evaluate and adopt emerging automation and AI technologies to enhance business operations

• Automate service desk, project management, sales, and operational processes
• Work closely with service desk and engineering teams to identify repetitive tasks suitable for automation
• Participate in solution design and continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain comprehensive documentation covering automation solutions, integration architecture, and operational procedures
