About the role:
As a Customer Service Representative, you will be the first point of contact for members and providers of a U.S.-based healthcare plan. You will handle inbound calls to resolve inquiries related to benefits, eligibility, and claims, ensuring a clear, empathetic, and efficient experience for every caller.
Responsibilities:
Answer inbound calls from members and providers using proper greeting and call handling protocols
Listen actively to identify the caller's issue and provide accurate, timely resolution
Explain benefits, eligibility, and claims information in clear, simple language
Process routine changes including adding dependents, updating addresses, and physician changes
Research Summary Plan Documents to quote benefits correctly
Log all call details into the system with proper notation during the call
Maintain strict confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations
Meet attendance, punctuality, and schedule adherence standards
Support onboarding of new team members through call shadowing when assigned
Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of experience in a customer service role, preferably in a call center environment
Advanced conversational English (B2+ or higher) — this is a fully English-speaking account
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
Strong communication and active listening skills
Experience in healthcare, insurance, or benefits administration is a plus but not required
