Project & Process Engineer

Location: Moncton

Are you an engineer who enjoys solving problems, leading projects, and making a real impact on a manufacturing operation?

We're looking for an ambitious Mechanical Engineer (preferred) or other discipline of engineering who wants much more than a traditional engineering role. This is an opportunity to work alongside senior leadership, take ownership of meaningful projects, and accelerate your career in a growing manufacturing business.

This role is ideal for someone early in their engineering career who has developed a solid technical foundation and is ready to expand into project management, process improvement, and eventually engineering leadership.

If you're looking for a position where you'll be challenged, trusted, and given opportunities to grow—not simply maintain existing systems—we'd like to meet you.

What You'll Do

As our Project & Process Engineer, you'll work across virtually every area of the operation. Your projects will vary from week to week, giving you exposure to manufacturing, automation, process development, capital projects, and new product commercialization.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead capital projects from concept through installation, commissioning, and operational handover.
  • Support scale-up of new products from handoff from laboratory development into full commercial manufacturing.
  • Improve manufacturing processes by identifying waste, bottlenecks, quality opportunities, and productivity improvements.
  • Develop equipment specifications, layouts, and process improvements to support business growth.
  • Manage project schedules, budgets, contractors, vendors, and project documentation.
  • Work closely with R&D, maintenance, quality, and operations to successfully execute projects.
  • Analyze manufacturing data and develop practical engineering solutions to improve safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
  • Participate in equipment selection, installation, validation, and startup activities.
  • Develop engineering standards, work instructions, and technical documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and structured problem-solving methodologies.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex manufacturing and equipment issues.
  • Build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization while influencing positive change.

What We're Looking For

We're less interested in years of experience than we are in capability, curiosity, and attitude.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (preferred), Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 2–7 years of engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with excellent analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and execute projects independently.
  • Excellent communication skills with the confidence to work directly with operators, trades, suppliers, and senior leadership.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • A hands-on approach—you enjoy being on the production floor as much as behind a computer.
  • Experience with manufacturing equipment, process improvement, and capital projects is considered an asset.
  • Exposure to Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement methodologies is an advantage.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and any 3D CAD software is beneficial.

The Person Who Will Thrive Here

You're someone who:

  • Loves solving difficult technical problems.
  • Doesn't wait to be told what needs improving.
  • Can move comfortably between the production floor, engineering office, and project meetings.
  • Enjoys taking ownership and seeing projects through from beginning to end.
  • Is equally comfortable speaking with operators, electricians, contractors, and executives.
  • Wants to build a long-term engineering career with increasing responsibility.

What You'll Gain

This isn't a narrow engineering position where you'll spend years doing the same work.

You'll gain experience leading:

  • New product scale-ups
  • Manufacturing process optimization
  • Facility and equipment expansions
  • Automation and productivity improvements
  • Capital investment projects
  • Cross-functional project teams

If you're looking for a place where your ideas matter, your projects make a visible impact, and your career can grow as quickly as your ambition, we'd love to hear from you.
