Responsibilities

  • Lead and support multiple engineering teams to deliver high-quality solutions, ensuring alignment with organisational goals.
  • Mentor and coach team members, including tech leads, helping them grow technically and professionally through feedback, career development plans, and tailored learning initiatives.
  • Provide a clear strategic vision, ensuring teams work cohesively toward common goals.
  • Contribute hands-on where necessary, including technical design reviews, code reviews, and assisting in critical incident escalations to unblock the team.
  • Establish delivery excellence practices, ensuring processes and workflows are effective, efficient, and scalable.
  • Promote a culture that encourages learning from challenges, celebrates successes, and drives collective team achievement.

Requirements

  • Proven software engineering experience, with a strong foundation in building and delivering production systems.
  • Proven track record of managing multiple squads of high performing engineering teams.
  • Proven experience developing and executing strategic plans for engineering initiatives, aligning them with business objectives.
  • Significant experience mentoring and coaching engineers and tech leads.
  • Experience solving complex technical and organizational challenges
  • Solid understanding of scalable systems, modern development practices, and engineering best practices.
  • Effective communicator who can collaborate seamlessly with leaders from other departments, ensuring alignment and effective execution of initiatives.
