León Building Maintenance & Security Coordinator
As the Building Maintenance & Security Coordinator for Ebury's new headquarters in León, you will be the single point of contact for all technical and office support operations. You will be responsible for transforming newly acquired facilities into a first-class office experience, ensuring that all complex building systems—from power to advanced climate control—are managed to the highest standards.
You will act as the "Property Representative," guaranteeing zero downtime for our critical infrastructure. You will be responsible for the long-term value and resilience of the asset, moving beyond day-to-day maintenance toward strategic asset management and decarbonization.
You will report directly to the Head of Global Business Services, who will act as the primary stakeholder for local infrastructure and employee safety, and you will also have a key local stakeholder, the Director of Ebury León. Additionally, you will work side-by-side with the León Office Manager.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Responsible for the effective operation of all contracted facility services, specifically managing the BMS (Building Management System), HVAC system, ventilation (AHU/UTA), and general building maintenance.
- Critical Infrastructure Maintenance: Oversee planned and ad hoc maintenance of UPS systems (Uninterruptible Power Supply), electrical panels, and building plumbing to guarantee 100% operational continuity.
- Business Continuity & Emergency Response: Establish and lead a 24/7 technical emergency response protocol to guarantee uptime for critical systems, including UPS, server room cooling, and security systems.
- Advanced Security Supervision: Manage 24/7 security protocols, including multi-zone access control and integrated CCTV monitoring in coordination with the security vendor.
- Property Regulatory Compliance: Guarantee 100% compliance with all statutory inspections (OCA, Fire Safety, Legionella, Elevator safety) to mitigate Ebury's legal and operational risks.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with key technical vendors (General Maintenance, Elevators, Security/Fire Protection, and Utilities).
- Duty of Care: Lead Health & Safety programs with comprehensive policies for the office and 24/7 shifts.
- Total Compliance: Responsible for ensuring Health & Safety compliance in accordance with local Spanish regulations, ensuring all mandatory inspections (electrical OCA, fire safety, and elevators) are completed as the property owner.
- Project Coordination: Lead moves and project coordination, including the upcoming renovation of the ground-floor commercial space and the potential installation of rooftop photovoltaic panels.
- Environmental Supervision: Oversee specialised services, such as Building Maintenance Units (Gondolas/BMU) for facade care, and supervise waste management and pest control.
Requirements
~1 min read- Solid Industry Experience: A minimum of five years in corporate office management, hospitality environments, or high-traffic complex facilities.
- Seamless Operations (Zero-Downtime): Proven track record in maintaining 24/7 mission-critical centres, such as operations rooms or global headquarters, where infrastructure resilience is paramount.
- Technical Background: A Vocational Training degree (Formación Profesional) focused on the electrical field or similar technical disciplines is highly desirable.
- Fundamental Maintenance: Practical, hands-on proficiency in general electrical systems, plumbing, and climate control operations.
- Specialised Infrastructure: Comprehensive understanding of UPS redundancy, electrical load balancing, and RITE regulations.
- Software & Digital Controls: Direct experience using Building Management System (BMS) software for environmental monitoring.
- Practical Skills: High level of manual dexterity and a strict focus on safety when operating various technical tools.
- Asset Management: Proficiency in managing as-built technical records and maintenance histories to preserve long-term asset value and regulatory compliance status.
- Multilingual Capability: Fluency in English and Spanish, essential for coordinating with global teams and negotiating with local service vendors.
- Problem Solver: Analytical mindset capable of quickly identifying and resolving building issues, such as thermal bridges or moisture infiltration.
- Self-Sufficient: Ability to independently prioritise urgent technical tasks, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail and office upkeep.
- Operational Resilience: Calm and focused demeanour during high-pressure scenarios involving critical infrastructure or end-of-life equipment.
