Ebury Vilnius Office - Hybrid: 4 days in the office, 1 day working from home per week
About the Role
~1 min readA compliance officer is a critical second line of defence role responsible for managing the compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies and procedures within Ebury. The right candidate will work closely with the Board of Directors, advise on regulatory matters, various stakeholders in the business, develop policies and procedures, ensuring local compliance standards are met.

- Regulatory Advisory: Provide expert guidance on the interpretation and application of new and existing financial regulations.
- Impact Assessments: Conduct regulatory impact assessments for proposed legislative changes, translating complex legal texts into clear, actionable requirements for the business.
- Policy Governance: Support the drafting and review of internal policies, procedures, and controls to ensure a robust operating environment aligned with best practices.
- Regulatory Liaison: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, central banks, and governmental agencies; manage routine inquiries and thematic reviews.
- Training & Culture: Develop and deliver targeted training sessions across all organizational levels to foster a strong culture of compliance.
- Jurisdictional Monitoring: Monitor regulatory changes across all relevant jurisdictions and advise the business on necessary strategic adjustments.
- General Project Support: Provide ad-hoc support for team tasks and wider business initiatives as required.
- Proactive Ownership: Act as a self-starter, managing workloads independently and identifying potential risks or areas for improvement without constant supervision.
- Knowledge Leadership: Maintain in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, corporate structures, and internal processes to consistently meet performance KPIs.
- Collaborative Spirit: Work flexibly within the team to manage workload peaks and contribute to the overall efficiency of the Onboarding function.

- Industry Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience within Banking, Fintech, Legal, or Compliance functions.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite for data management and reporting.
- Leadership Traits: Proven ability to operate independently and the confidence to challenge senior management when necessary.
- Experience working effectively within an international environment.
- Strong organizational skills with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex regulatory initiatives simultaneously.
