Clinical Coordinator - NURSING
Quick Summary
Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's in Nursing preferred. A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a leadership role.
This position will work at our Lake Mary, FL campus location.
The Clinical Coordinator is responsible for the coordination, orientation, supervision and evaluation of students and clinical instructors on campus and at the clinical sites.
- Assists the Director of Nursing (DON) with seeking new clinical agencies/facilities as needed to provide quality experiences for nursing students and to support program growth.
- Conducts site visits at clinical agencies and facilities to observe faculty and students at work.
- Assists the DON with the supervision and evaluation of nursing program clinical faculty.
- Assists clinical faculty by providing evaluation devices of student learning and clinical experience to measure progress and competency.
- Assists the DON with hiring and selecting new clinical faculty as needed to support the nursing program.
- Functions as a liaison between the nursing program and the nursing departments of the cooperating clinical agencies.
- Assists the DON with the evaluation of student clinical progress and clinical competency based on nursing program philosophy and objectives.
- Assists with planning advancement ceremonies and new student orientation.
- Assists DON with clinical schedules and distribution of calendars to faculty and students.
- Schedules and conducts regular clinical faculty meetings.
- Orients new faculty to policies and procedures of the nursing program and to the clinical sites.
- Maintains professional qualifications through participation in continuing education programs and academic courses.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing required; Master's in Nursing preferred.
- A minimum of two years of clinical nursing experience in a leadership role.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred; prior teaching experience a plus.
- Must possess an unrestricted license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the North Carolina
