Serves as the senior cybersecurity advisor and technical lead. Provides strategic guidance, technical oversight, cybersecurity engineering expertise, and risk management support to
ensure information systems, applications, and networks comply with DoD cybersecurity requirements and maintain an effective security posture. Acts as the primary technical interface with Government leadership for cybersecurity initiatives.
Responsibilities
~2 min read- →Serve as the senior cybersecurity technical authority for the contract.
- →Provide expert guidance to Government leadership on cybersecurity strategy, policy, and emerging threats.
- →Lead cybersecurity engineering efforts supporting enterprise systems and applications.
- →Advise program managers on security architecture, system design, and implementation.
- →Review and evaluate cybersecurity risks associated with new technologies and system changes.
- →Lead development and implementation of cybersecurity best practices.
- →Support enterprise cyber modernization initiatives.
- →Conduct technical reviews of security architectures, designs, and implementation plans.
- →Recommend corrective actions to improve overall cybersecurity posture.
- →Lead cybersecurity assessments, audits, and technical evaluations.
- →Provide subject matter expertise during inspections and compliance reviews.
- →Support Authority to Operate (ATO), continuous authorization, and Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities.
- →Develop risk mitigation strategies for identified vulnerabilities.
- →Coordinate cybersecurity activities across multiple functional teams.
- →Mentor junior cybersecurity engineers and analysts.
- →Review contractor deliverables for technical accuracy and completeness.
- →Participate in technical interchange meetings with Government stakeholders.
- →Support incident response planning and cyber event analysis.
- →Provide technical input for vulnerability management activities.
- →Evaluate emerging cybersecurity technologies and recommend implementation strategies.
- →Develop technical white papers, executive briefings, and cybersecurity recommendations.
- →Support strategic planning initiatives related to cyber defense.
- →Ensure cybersecurity activities align with DoD Zero Trust initiatives where applicable.
- →Provide cybersecurity support for cloud migration and hybrid environments.
- →Maintain awareness of evolving DoD cybersecurity directives and policies.
Requirements
~1 min read- Five (5) years of relevant Risk Management Framework (RMF) and NIST A&A experience
- DOD cybersecurity experience
- Experience in assessing security controls and conducting authorization reviews for large, complex organizations.
- Experienced in the general tenets supporting the overall DOD implementation of its authorization process, to include supporting cybersecurity policy, procedures, and processes.
- Knowledgeable in the cybersecurity of emerging technology areas such as Cloud and Industrial Control Systems (ICSs), warehouse execution systems and Operational Technology (OT) infrastructures.
- DOD Secret Clearance and must possess IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive security clearance or Tier 3 (T3) at time of proposal submission.
- Relevant certification from a nationally recognized authority.
