Production Manager (Injection Moulding)

Our client is seeking an experienced Production Manager to join the Port Elizabeth team, · Manage and coordinate daily production activities within the injection moulding department. · Lead, motivate, and supervise production staff to meet output targets and quality standards. · Ensure proper setup, operation, and maintenance of injection moulding machines and related mechanical equipment. · Monitor production schedules, workflow, and resources to ensure timely delivery of products. · Implement and monitor health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with OHSA and company regulations. · Minimise downtime by proactively identifying and resolving mechanical and process-related issues. · Collaborate with maintenance, quality control, and tooling teams to improve operational efficiency. · Analyse production metrics and reports to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives. · Ensure product quality by overseeing inspections and working closely with the quality assurance team. · Train and develop staff on injection moulding processes, machinery, and safety practices. · Manage raw material usage, waste reduction, and inventory controls. · Participate in capital equipment planning and factory upgrades. Requirements · Grade 12 · National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. · Minimum 5 years’ experience in a production management role, specifically in injection moulding. · Strong mechanical background with experience in troubleshooting and maintaining injection moulding machines · Proven leadership and team management skills. · Strong understanding of production planning, lean manufacturing, and continuous improvement. · Working knowledge of ISO standards and quality control systems.
