Air Jet Texturing Op

Job Summary:

The Air Jet Texturing Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Air Texturing machines where materials are used in the production of carpet fibers.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Place yarn packages on creel and tie into reserve packages
• Remove empty tubes from creel
• Load empty tubes in machine
• Monitor for broken positions and rethread in a timely manner
• Consistently watch lines for any quality issues
• Remove completed packages of air textured yarn and pack yarn on buggies
• Move buggies of completed packages to specified location for pack out
• Maintain clean and safe work environment

Performance Expectations (if applicable):

• Ability to lift 40 lbs. up to 6 feet consistently throughout the shift
• Ability to carry a minimum of 40 lbs. up to a distance of 40 feet
• Ability to stand and walk for duration of shift
• Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed

Experience/Education Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Must be able to read and write, do basic addition, subtraction, division, and multiplication
• Computer knowledge or data entry skills are a necessary part of the job but will train

Other Requirements:

• Ability to work overtime when necessary

• All accidents must be reported immediately
• Perform any other duties as assigned
• Must be able to observe and adhere to all PPE rules
• Report to management any quality, safety, or potential problems encountered while performing the job
• Aptitude to pass a color vision test if needed
