Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A
Quick Summary
you're energized, not intimidated, by raw data pulled from many systems (ERP, student billing platforms, e-commerce, spreadsheets),
Ensemble Performing Arts is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Analyst ready for the next step in their career. This role reports to the VP, FP&A and sits at the center of our financial data and reporting operations, owning everything from business analytics and reporting to budgeting and forecasting to cash flow modeling. You'll thrive in this role if you're comfortable building order out of ambiguity — pulling together disparate data sources, spotting patterns others miss, and turning raw numbers into insights leadership can act on.
This is a hands-on role for someone who is forward-thinking, process-oriented, and detail-obsessed, with strong Excel skills and a genuine curiosity about how AI tools can make financial analysis faster and sharper.
Responsibilities
~1 min read- →Serve as a key owner of financial data integrity, reporting structures, and recurring management reporting
- →Consolidate and reconcile data from multiple, often disconnected systems and sources into clean, reliable reporting packages
- →Design and maintain dashboards and reports that give stakeholders a clear, timely view of business performance
- →Identify opportunities to standardize and automate recurring reporting processes
- Partner with business unit leaders to analyze performance drivers, margins, and key operating metrics
- Build financial and operational models to support strategic decisions (pricing, headcount planning, new initiatives, etc.)
- Translate complex data into concise, actionable recommendations for non-financial stakeholders
- Lead or support the annual budgeting process, partnering with department heads to build accurate, defensible budgets
- Own periodic forecast updates, incorporating actuals, business trends, and changing assumptions
- Perform variance analysis between actuals, budget, and forecast, and translate the "why" into clear narrative for leadership
Cash Flow Forecasting
- Build and maintain rolling cash flow forecasts across short- and long-term horizons
- Monitor actual cash performance against forecast and flag risks or opportunities early
- Support liquidity planning and working capital analysis
Who You Are
- A data wrangler: you're energized, not intimidated, by raw data pulled from many systems (ERP, student billing platforms, e-commerce, spreadsheets), and you can turn it into one reliable source of truth
- Detail-obsessed: you catch the error before it reaches leadership, and you build checks and reconciliations into your work
- A process improver: you can't help but streamline, document, standardize, and automate recurring work so it scales across a growing network
- AI-forward: you actively use AI tools to speed up modeling, data cleanup, and variance commentary, and you know how to validate what they produce
- A business partner: you bring real business acumen, ask the right questions of business unit leaders, and turn the numbers into decisions rather than just reports
- A P&L steward: you provide oversight of P&L performance across multiple entities, reviewing monthly results, explaining variances to budget and forecast, and flagging margin or cost issues early
- A confident communicator: you can present to senior leadership and explain financial concepts clearly to non-finance audiences
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or similar
- 3–6 years of experience in FP&A, corporate finance, investment banking, or a similar analytical finance role, ideally with at least one full budget cycle owned end-to-end
- Experience working within multi-unit or multi-state environments; experience with schools, education, membership, or subscription-based businesses is a strong plus
- Solid understanding of US GAAP principles
- Working knowledge of a major ERP or planning system (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Workday Adaptive Planning, Anaplan)
- Prior experience working across multiple, non-integrated data systems and building the connective tissue between them
- Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fully remote, fast-scaling environment
Compensation & Benefits
The compensation range for this position is $85,000–$105,000 per year, commensurate with experience. A competitive benefits package is provided, including a 401(k) with employer match; health, vision, and dental benefits; and Paid Time-Off.
