Associate Project Manager

In this role as an Associate Project Manager, you will support Project Managers in the execution of projects within the Automation Systems Group (ASG), ensuring projects are delivered on time and within (or under) budget, while putting a primary focus on customer satisfaction.  You will begin in a support role and gradually take on more responsibility for various projects.  The goal is to grow as a project manager to eventually run smaller projects and to move up to a Project Manager (PM) position.

You need to be a customer-focused, upcoming leader with the ability to effectively motivate, encourage, lead, manage, and mentor cross-functional teams, with proven experience establishing and achieving project objectives.

How It’s Done

• Assist with larger system projects/execute small system projects (normally supported by a mentor PM, depending on the size/complexity of the job)
• Assist in managing customer interaction and expectations through the length of the project/contract scope
• Assist in leading/managing cross-functional project teams in Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing and Planning to ensure on-time and accurate orders that meet customer requirements
• Assist in tracking and managing financials of the project including budget management, revenue management, invoice management, change order management, procurement management, and payment assurance
• Assist in maintenance of the Project Cost Forecasting (PCF) for appropriate scheduling and tracking of project units and scope
• Assist with scheduling revenue and manage P/L
• Assist with scheduling installation resources as required and management of FIR reporting/tracking
• Focus on continuous improvement initiatives by recognizing and correcting internal and external processes when necessary (including improvements related to project management and Oracle ERP system improvements to allow for simpler user interactions)
• Assist in internal and customer runoff planning and execution, shipping coordination and any other necessary tasks the project may require
• Other duties as assigned
• Travel to customer sites, as required
• Travel to multiple FANUC build site locations to support project requirements and work at those locations as needed based on phase of project
• Support sales activities when applicable

What You Need

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering discipline, or equivalent relevant experience
• Experience in automation or application experience or equivalent
• Experience with MS Office Suite and ERP system

What Would Be Even Better

• Oracle ERP System
• 3+ years experience in automation or application experience or equivalent
