We are searching for an experienced and enthusiastic Co-Op to join Analytical Development team. The main goal for this position is to support execution and development of test methods for characterization of novel nucleic acid therapeutics and LNP delivery vehicles. We are looking for an individual who enjoys hands-on laboratory benchwork and brings scientific rigor and intellectual curiosity to their role. This individual will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced entrepreneurial environment as part of a highly collaborative and rapidly growing team.
Responsibilities

- →The successful candidate will work as part of the team responsible for the development, characterization, and production of nucleic acid therapeutics
- →Develop and execute analytical assays for the characterization and release of nucleic acid cargo and LNP drug product
- →Analyze, summarize, and present experimental results to team members and management
- →Explore new technologies and methods to optimize current processes in fast-paced research environment
- →Maintain up-to-date records and communicate results to team members in written technical reports and oral presentations
- →Participate in experimental design and troubleshooting efforts
- →Interpret and summarize experimental data and maintain excellent laboratory notebooks
Requirements
~1 min read- Current student enrolled in a Bachelors or Master’s program in Chemical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Biomolecular Engineering, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, Biophysics, Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, or a related field
- GPA of 3.5 on a 4 scale or equivalent
- Attention to detail, ability to multi-task, and troubleshoot
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent record keeping and data management skills
- Excellent organization skills, approaching tasks with efficiency
- Ability to analyze, summarize, and communicate scientific data
- Ability to work independently and collaborate with other members of the team
- Laboratory skills applicable to development and execution of analytical assays
- Preferred: Hands-on experience with plate-based (ELISA, qPCR, fluorescence assays) or separation (CE, HPLC) techniques
- The ideal candidate is adaptable, enthusiastic about new challenges, has an innate curiosity, and a passion for learning

The pay range for this role is $25 - $35 per hour. This role is a short-term engagement that is not eligible for health and welfare benefits. Retirement benefits may be available after completing a set number of hours. Compensation and benefits information is based on Serif Biomedicines's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
