CCC, through our Circular Construction Innovation Hub, is the first national initiative focused on accelerating circular construction strategies across Canada’s construction and real estate sector. Through strategic convening and collaboration, regional demonstration projects, and knowledge sharing, CCC is working to advance cost-efficient, market-ready solutions and de-risks investment in circular strategies, practices, technologies, and innovation.

What You’ll Do 

As the Project Director, you will support the Managing Director in leading and managing several multi-year initiatives within CCC’s strategic project portfolio. You are equally comfortable operating at the strategic and operational levels, translating complex challenges into coordinated action. From shaping agendas and managing work plans, to engaging stakeholders, conducting research, and synthesizing diverse perspectives into meaningful outputs. You will be the connecting intersection of strategy, project delivery, stakeholder engagement, communications, policy, and business development.

As a Project Director at Circular Construction Canada, your key responsibilities will include:

Project Management (30%)

  • Partner with the Managing Director to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of CCC multi-year initiatives, including Adaptive Reuse of Existing Buildings , Wood Reuse in Construction, and additional projects as assigned.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for project partners, funders, research teams, and consultants; coordinating CCC's stakeholder relationships, contracts and project deliverables across flagship initiatives. 
  • Lead project planning, execution, tracking, and reporting to ensure timely delivery within scope, budget, and resource requirements, leveraging tools such as ClickUp.

Research & Project Delivery (30%)

  • Coordinate research activities with partners and consultants, manage and review deliverables, and synthesize findings into clear, actionable communications materials.
  • Collaborate with research teams and consultants to conduct policy scans, secondary reports and literature reviews, document analysis, and lead key informant interviews that support project tasks and deliverables. 
  • Synthesize and translate research findings into high quality, clear, actionable project deliverables, including industry guides and toolkits, policy briefs, blogs, and other relevant sector specific, knowledge sharing resources.

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnership Development  (30%)

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with partners, funders, and stakeholders to facilitate collaboration on key projects. 
  • Plan, facilitate, and follow through on stakeholder strategic meeting agendas, workshops, and events to ensure clarity, engagement, and actionable project outcomes (e.g., Steering Committee, Project Advisory Panels, research related workshops, etc.). 
  • Partner with CCC’s Managing Director to secure funding through grants and other funding opportunities that advance research and demonstration projects. 
  • Support CCC’s Managing Director with business development activities,  including outreach to engage new partners and partnership cultivation to advance the multi-year projects and initiatives.

Strategic Communications & Knowledge Mobilization (10%)

  • Support the planning, administration, and execution events and activities, including virtual and in-person workshops, stakeholder convenings, government engagement, and knowledge dissemination initiatives for multi-year projects. 
  • Collaborate with CCC’s Managing Director and Communications Lead to disseminate project findings and resources, driving knowledge mobilization with stakeholders, and amplifying audience awareness to promote projects and findings.
  • Support CCC’s Managing Director and Communications Lead with other administrative tasks, as needed.

Essential Qualifications: 

  • 3+ years of experience in project management, stakeholder relations, or related role
  • Previous business development, communications, design, systems thinking, and consulting experience is an asset, including report writing and/or proposal writing (e.g., preparing grant and funding applications)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities
  • Experience working with stakeholders across construction and real estate industry, government, non-profit, and academia 
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a keen attention to detail 
  • Outstanding interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to synthesize research and manage research related processes
  • Experience planning and hosting virtual and in-person workshops and meetings, including agenda setting and coordination
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, anticipate needs, and execute with minimal supervision 
  • Experience working with remote, geographically distributed teams
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Post-secondary education or certification in Business, Public Policy, Sustainability, Resource Management, or a related field
  • Experience in the non-profit or sustainability sector, particularly with registered charities
  • Knowledge or experience in circular construction concepts, principles (e.g., waste-to-resource, circular design, deconstruction, etc.) and related topics
