The Human Resources Generalist plays a key role in attracting, hiring, and integrating talent by leading the organization's recruitment and onboarding processes. This position manages the full recruitment lifecycle, including job postings, candidate sourcing and communication, interviewing, selection, job offers, and pre-employment processes, while partnering closely with hiring managers to meet organizational staffing needs. In addition, the HR Generalist provides support across a broad range of HR functions, including employee relations, benefits and leave administration, HRIS administration, policy administration, compliance, and employee lifecycle processes. The position serves as a resource to employees and managers, independently manages assigned HR processes and programs, and partners with the HR Director on more complex HR matters and organizational initiatives.
Responsibilities
~3 min read- →Recruiting and Onboarding
- →Manages the full recruitment lifecycle, including candidate sourcing, screening and interviewing, coordination with hiring managers, reference checks, candidate selection, and development of fair and equitable job offers within the organization's compensation structure.
- →Partners with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, develop effective recruitment strategies, maintain timely candidate movement, and provide ongoing communication throughout the recruitment process.
- →Leads participation in job fairs and hiring events as needed.
- →Coordinates with marketing to maintain the online GIA careers page and ensures appropriate social media outlets are utilized.
- →Leads and coordinates onboarding of new hires, ensuring all required orientation items are completed, training staff is coordinated, and all items on the new hire checklist are completed.
- →Assists in the onboarding of physicians and APP's, including coordination of schedules, orientation, and necessary training.
- →Creates and maintains all electronic employee files in accordance with applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
- →Completes benefits enrollment for all new employees and processes benefits changes and terminations as needed.
- →General HR Functions
- →Coordinates employee leave administration in partnership with the FMLA vendor, including documentation, communication, tracking, and coordination of FMLA and other applicable leave benefits.
- →Leads the annual open enrollment process, ensuring all staff complete enrollment and all enrolled benefits are accurate.
- →Supports ongoing benefits administration, including employee questions, eligibility and enrollment changes, qualifying life events, vendor coordination, and benefit terminations.
- →Processes termination checklists and paperwork, ensuring all steps are completed, access is terminated, exit interviews are scheduled, company belongings are returned, benefits are terminated and COBRA paperwork is processed.
- →Supports the development, review, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of personnel and HR-related policies, procedures, and practices.
- →Provides guidance to managers and employees on routine employee relations matters, policy interpretation, performance management, and workplace concerns; partners with the HR Director on complex or higher-risk matters.
- →Serves as an HRIS super user, maintaining HR workflows, checklists, employee data and reporting, and identifying opportunities to improve HR processes and system utilization.
- →Assists in reaccreditation surveys with Joint Commission and AAAHC.
- →Coordinates annual employee training and development activities, including required organizational and compliance training, tracking completion, and supporting ongoing learning and development initiatives.
- →Completes paperwork and reporting for mandated state and/or federal programs, including but not limited to worker's compensation, unemployment, EEOC reporting, FMLA benefits, ACA compliance, etc.
- →Ensures compliance with federal and state regulations regarding all aspects of the employment process.
- →Participates in HR projects, reporting, process improvement, compliance initiatives, and other departmental priorities as assigned.
- →Maintains knowledge of industry trends and employment legislation and ensures organization's compliance.
- →Performs other job-related duties requiring the same general knowledge, skills, and degree of responsibility commensurate with assigned level.
Requirements

- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Management, Business Administration, or related field highly preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- Licensure/Certification
- PHR Certification through HRCI, or SHRM-CP certification through SHRM highly desired.
- Experience
- Minimum of three years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including significant recruitment experience and experience across multiple HR functional areas.
- Knowledge
- Maintains a working knowledge of Federal and State wage and hour, FMLA, ADAAA and other applicable rules, regulations, accreditation requirements, and all employment-related laws.
- Knowledge of online recruiting and candidate sourcing tools, including the effective use of technology, social media, and digital platforms to identify, attract, and engage qualified candidates.
- Knowledge of organization's strategic business objectives and employee performance objectives.
- Knowledge of organizational leadership philosophies and a willingness to continue striving for greater leadership learning.
- Skills
- Possesses interpersonal, communication, and listening skills necessary to deal effectively and courteously with physicians, coworkers, vendors and all levels of staff.
- Skill in exercising a high degree of initiative, judgment, discretion and decision making to achieve organizational objectives.
- Problem-solving skills, considering all aspects of issue and assessing objectively prior to responding.
- Demonstrates effective presentation skills to present training to large groups.
- Attention to detail, submitting work with confidence in its accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills, specifically Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and the Internet.
- Demonstrates professionalism and respect in all forms of communication and correspondence.
- Abilities
