In 2020, G Mining Ventures (GMIN) was created to acquire direct ownership of projects and capitalize on the value uplift that successful mine development offers. In July 2024, GMIN has acquired the Oko West project. The Oko West Project is a new gold discovery in northwest Guyana. It is located south of the historical “Oko” gold district, some 95 km west of Georgetown.
To ensure the achievement of this large-scale project, G Mining Ventures is looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of:
Responsibilities
~1 min read- Prepare detailed technical drawings, plans, and schematics for mining operations, including infrastructure, equipment layouts, and site development plans.
- Work closely with engineers and geologists to translate technical specifications into detailed drawings.
- Maintain and update design documentation, ensuring all drawings are kept current and in line with project changes.
- Ensure all drafting work complies with relevant regulations, standards, and industry best practices.
- Assist in the preparation of material take-offs and bill of quantities.
- Participate in site surveys to collect data for drafting purposes.
- Coordinate with contractors and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely completion of drawings.
- Produce drawings for civil, structural, mechanical, and electrical systems used in mining operations.
- Maintain and organize a comprehensive library of project documentation and drawings.
- Review and revise drawings to incorporate feedback from engineers and project managers.
- Ensure that all drawings are clear, accurate, and meet operational needs.
Requirements
~1 min read- Technical certificate and or diploma in drafting, engineering, or related field is preferred.
- At least 2 years proven experience as a Draftsman in a mining or construction environment.
- Proficient in AutoCAD or other relevant design software (e.g., MicroStation, SolidWorks).
- Strong understanding of drafting standards, drawing conventions, and industry codes.
- Ability to interpret and apply technical specifications and project requirements.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in all drawings.
- Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
- Knowledge of mining equipment, civil, mechanical, and electrical systems is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
- Position based at the OKO Project site. Fly-in/Fly-out.
- Work Schedule – 14 days on/7 days Off
- Transport, accommodations, and meals provided on site.
